Kuker masks

In Bulgaria, we have traditions with which we shoo away evil from our homes, from the fields, from the barns and from ourselves. This happens in winter and then when men dress up in scary costumes shoo evil spirits not to disturb the residents during the year.
It is this tradition that inspired me to create these works, with which I express my own unique banishment of bad thoughts within us and the events around us.
The collection is made with acrylic on handmade paper.
